Role Description The Field Services Engineer is a full-time based from our offices in Newbury. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and commissioning monitoring systems at customer locations, ensuring proper integration with existing infrastructure. Day-to-day activities include diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, annual calibrations and providing on-site technical support for both wired and wireless systems. The Field Services Engineer will also train customers on system operation, document service activities, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve complex issues.
A strong focus on customer service, clear communication, and safe working practices is required.
Qualifications
- Strong field service experience, including on-site installation, commissioning, and support of technical systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and minimize downtime.
- Solid customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and build positive relationships with clients.
- Working knowledge of monitoring, control, or automation systems; familiarity with wired and wireless technologies is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
- Comfort with travel to customer sites and working independently in the field.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in electronics, electrical engineering, IT, or a related discipline.
