Position: Advanced Public Health Practitioner and Community Programme Officer - 05480

Are you passionate about public health and making a positive impact on your community? The Public Protection Partnership is seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Public Health Practitioner and Community Programme Officer to join our Shared Service Public Protection Service and Public Health Service within West Berkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a key role split between two services dedicated to improving health outcomes for our community.

The Role

As the Advanced Public Health Practitioner and Community Programme Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Working collaboratively to support the delivery of a range of public health priorities and programmes
  • Conducting needs assessments and data analysis to identify community health issues
  • Designing, implementing, and evaluating public health interventions
  • Building effective partnerships with local organisations, stakeholders, and community groups
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on public health and public protection matters
  • Be hands on in contributing to the development and implementation of strategies and projects designed to improve health outcomes
  • To seek grant funding opportunities, and turn these into meaningful and positive outcomes for the community
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface of public health and community protection, ensuring that the needs of our local population are met through effective programme delivery.
Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in public health practice
  • Proven ability to design and deliver community-based health programmes across a range of priorities
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders
  • Experience in partnership working and collaboration with external organisations
  • Self‑motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Manage budget and staff
