Job Summary

At Via, our mission is to provide the best health and wellbeing support to as many people as possible, helping them to change their lives for the better. Last year, we supported over 11,000 people across the UK affected by alcohol and drug use. Everything we do is driven by our values:

  • Care. Care for people is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Be human. We are accessible, genuine and humble. Always learning.
  • Do the right thing. We’re open, honest and inclusive. We get things done.

We want to recruit the very best talent. We believe in nurturing a positive workplace culture where our colleagues feel valued, recognised, empowered, and supported.

What we’re looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast‑paced and growing organisation. We’re looking for a Young Adults Recovery Practitioner for our West Berkshire Service. Based within the core West Berkshire integrated Drug and Alcohol Service, this Recovery Practitioner role will support adult service users within the area to achieve their recovery journey goals, via 1:1s and structured groupwork packages.

The role will involve:

  • Deliver excellent drug and alcohol services to service users and their significant others, including family members, friends and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes.
  • Streamline the transfer process between Young People and Adult services and offer bespoke interventions taking into account individual circumstances, such as special educational learning needs, rather than considering age in isolation for the best‑fit service.
  • Manage a caseload and coordinate and deliver assessment and evidence‑based interventions (brief and structured), recovery planning and aftercare planning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders across multi‑disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence with all VIA policies and safeguarding principles.

The core hours of this role will be Monday–Friday 9am until 5pm, but there may be some occasional out of hours work which would be considered on a rota basis.

Full time, part time / job share, and flexible working applications are welcomed and will be considered in conjunction with hybrid models.

Due to the peripatetic nature and geographical area of this role, it would be advantageous to have a driving licence.

This is not just a job – you’ll help people rebuild their lives, reconnect with their family and friends, return to work or education, and much more.

We’re looking for individuals with compassion, good communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure. If you’re someone who is a good listener, stays curious, and wants to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Deadline: 15th February at midnight

Salary: £26,940 – £30,762 dependant on experience

Vacancy type:
Permanent

Working hours:

37.5
