London OR Newbury We are seeking an experienced privacy and compliance professional to lead the Legal, Privacy & Compliance Centre of Excellence (CoE) Operations within VOIS. This role plays a pivotal part in providing expert operational, technical and strategic support to the Group Legal & Business Integrity function, with scope to expand services across other Group legal functions and local markets.
The role requires deep technical expertise in privacy and data protection, strong stakeholder engagement capability, and a passion for simplifying complex regulatory obligations into practical, scalable solutions.
What you’ll do Provide expert technical advisory on Privacy, Data Protection and Responsible AI, working closely with the Global Privacy Officer and Lead Privacy Counsel.
Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, assessing their impact on Vodafone Group and ensuring timely communication to senior stakeholders.
Define and embed group-wide risk mitigation strategies for new regulations, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, products and new business ventures.
Develop and maintain privacy-related policies, procedures and risk advisories, ensuring effective integration into business operations.
Continuously simplify, standardise, centralise and automate privacy policies, processes and tools.
Prepare and support materials for key governance and oversight forums, including:
Group Risk and Compliance Committee Group Policy and Compliance Committee Group Audit & Risk Committee Group Data Management Risk Steerco Drive consistent operating models and governance, risk and compliance practices across Cyber, Privacy, Corporate Security and Data Governance, in collaboration with local markets.
Review KPIs and risk reports from local privacy teams, overseeing mitigation actions and accountability from risk owners.
Oversee the annual second-line assurance process, providing expert interpretation of privacy regulations and internal controls.
Manage group-level reporting (including PAM, ARA and CSRD) and analyse key risk indicators for senior governance forums.
Provide advisory support, guidance, training and assurance aligned to the Compliance Management System Business Partnering pillar.
Collaborate with Corporate & Business Integrity teams on strategic programmes for privacy and compliance operations.
Build and nurture an operations and transformation community to drive innovation, alignment and adoption.
Lead and oversee operations and transformation projects, ensuring delivery to time, scope and budget.
Leverage data analytics to inform decision-making and measure programme effectiveness.
Identify and implement process and technology improvements across legal, privacy and compliance operations.
Evaluate, implement and manage technology solutions and data repositories to support reporting and insight-led decisions.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and customers, ensuring delivery excellence and alignment to strategic priorities.
