Overview

RAN Operations (RANOPS) manages and supports the Mobile Network, encompassing Technology Operations Service Reporting/Monitoring & Tools Development Portfolio. The team transforms raw data into reporting, tools, and automations, delivering benefits through zero‑touch automations, interactive web applications, dashboards, data feeds, and APIs.

Role Purpose

The position requires a dynamic, proactive individual who understands business needs and supports the Technology Operations strategy. Key focus areas include communication, problem‑solving, web and database development, and delivery of new tools, automations, APIs, and machine learning/AI solutions. The role demands extensive software development experience, data extraction from workflow management tools, creation of visualizations, and identification of code and performance issues to enhance Technology Operations.

Key

Accountabilities
  • Build and deliver Service Automation & Digital capability as defined by the Technology Operations strategy.
  • Design, build, and support tools and process automations.
  • Influence and drive strategic decisions for tools deployed on the Operational Intelligence platform.
  • Guide technical strategy and team discussions on system architecture, component design, and improvements.
  • Liaise with product, business, and 3rd parties to enhance product and service quality.
  • Participate in all stages of the software development life‑cycle, from definition and design to release and post‑launch monitoring and support.
  • Support the manager in defining and driving the technical roadmap for the team.
  • Identify new opportunities to expand the digital estate and improve service delivered to customers.
  • Analyze reports/tools to ensure data accuracy and manage resolution plans for inaccuracies.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and improve tools and services that support their ways of working.
  • Support the team to maintain and manage tools and processes.
  • Support team members in their personal development of technical skills.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Working knowledge of ITIL.
  • Strong web development experience, ideally including PHP, Python, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6, jQuery), and React.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong working experience with Excel.
  • Experience with code versioning tools.
  • Experience working in Agile methodology.
  • Understanding of Mobile Networks.
  • Exposure to Dev Ops or CI/CD pipelines (beneficial).
  • Exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue (beneficial).
  • Exposure to AWS/Cloud services (beneficial).
  • Customer‑focused mindset.
  • Proactive individual with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Capability to operate in a changing environment and drive significant changes.
  • Strong communication and decision‑making skills, with the ability to balance conflicting interests and priorities.
