What you’ll do

As a Big Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the platforms, pipelines, and processes that power advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven decision making. Working alongside talented Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Ops Engineers, and Dev Ops Engineers, you’ll ensure our data is reliable, secure, and accessible, enabling personalised customer experiences and delivering real business value.

You’ll join our Big Data team and help bring our Unified Data Platform vision to life. By combining technical expertise with collaborative problem-solving, you’ll support the delivery of trusted, high-quality data solutions that drive innovation across Vodafone Three.

You will:
  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data ingestion pipelines that align with engineering best practices.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Ops Engineers, and Dev Ops Engineers to ensure data availability, reliability, and quality across our platforms.
  • Aassess, monitor, and improve data quality, raising and resolving issues proactively to maintain trusted datasets.
  • Develop and optimise large-scale data processing solutions capable of handling significant data volumes securely and efficiently.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation, applying practices such as defensive programming and continuous improvement.
