Job Title: Ambulatory Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Newbury, Berkshire

Working Hours: Typically, this is a full‑time role working 45 hours Monday–Friday; however, we are happy to discuss part‑time during the standard working week. The position will require participation in a 1-in-7 out-of-hours rota. Out‑of-hours work is relatively quiet and does not include stud work, anaesthesia or clinic admissions, which are covered by separate teams.

Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine examinations, diagnostics, and treatments on a variety of animals.
• Conduct surgical procedures as needed, including spaying, neutering, and other minor surgeries.
• Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
• Provide guidance and advice to pet owners on general care, feeding, and wellness.
• Maintain accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and progress.

Qualifications and

Skills Required:

• Veterinary degree from a recognized institution.
• Valid veterinary license to practice in the UK.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Compassionate and caring approach to animals.
