Position: Tesco Colleague Nights Extra

About the role

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. For all hours worked between midnight and 6am you will receive an additional night premium of £2.35 per hour worked. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

  • Mon 22:00 – 06:30
  • Thu 22:00 – 06:30
  • Fri 22:00 – 06:30
  • Sat 22:00 – 06:30

Responsibilities
  • Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
  • Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  • Putting into practice the training you have received, so we work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Making decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines that meet their needs at the right time.
  • Participating in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Being knowledgeable about store performance, understanding your role in driving service, sales, reducing waste and shrink, and delivering profit.
  • Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Living the values, making everyone feel welcome and always following policies.
  • Occasionally accepting deliveries into the store.
Requirements
  • A passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile, and serving them with pride.
  • Ability to build rapport with customers so they leave having experienced a great shopping trip.
  • Taking initiative and making decisions that are right for customers.
  • Working well within a team and communicating openly with others.
  • Building relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, having fun and celebrating success.
  • Being at work on time, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador.
