DBS Level: Enhanced

Driving Licence & Travel: A driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable, as travel between our schemes in Newbury & Thatcham may be required. However, this is not essential, provided candidates can reliably travel to both locations. Mileage expenses are reimbursed in line with company policy.

Role Overview :

Join our supported housing services and become part of a team that is passionate about making a real difference. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred support to customers living in supported accommodation, working in line with Person-Centred principles to promote independence, choice, freedom and positive outcomes.

As Support Officer, you will support people aged 18 to 35, including single young adults and young parents, helping them to sustain their tenancies, build confidence, develop essential life skills and take positive steps towards achieving their goals. No two days are the same, and your support can make a lasting difference by helping customers feel safe, listened to and empowered to move forward.

You will work closely with customers to develop practical skills such as managing a tenancy, budgeting, cooking, maintaining personal safety, accessing education, training or employment opportunities, and making informed choices about their future. Through tailored support and encouragement, you will help individuals overcome challenges, achieve greater independence and celebrate meaningful milestones along their journey.

More about you:

* A working knowledge and understanding of how to support people in achieving and maintaining independence essential

* Housing or Support related qualification desirable

* Experience of providing support to diverse client groups

* Experience of working with clients experiencing substance misuse and mental health.

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A*
- C)

* Ability to work under own initiative

* Ability to network and build strong relationships with partner agencies, community and key stakeholders.

* Ability to use IT packages and management information systems.

* Ability to deal with distressed and aggressive clients.

* Driving Licence and use of own transport desirable
