This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands heavy civil construction and can build an effective quality program around the realities of an active jobsite. You will work closely with project management, engineering, field leadership, subcontractors, and testing agencies to ensure work meets contract requirements and quality standards.

The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of project quality, improve field processes, and play an important role in the successful delivery of complex infrastructure work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer project-specific quality management and inspection plans
  • Oversee inspection, testing, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate field quality personnel and third-party testing agencies
  • Schedule and perform audits, inspections, and material testing
  • Verify that materials, workmanship, and construction processes meet project requirements
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, test reports, material documentation, and corrective-action logs
  • Identify quality risks early and implement practical mitigation strategies
  • Manage nonconforming work and drive timely corrective action
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Field Engineers, designers, owners, and subcontractors
  • Review material documentation and confirm compliance before products are incorporated into the work
  • Train project teams and subcontractors on quality procedures and inspection requirements
  • Provide regular quality updates to project and company leadership
  • Recommend process improvements that reduce rework and prevent recurring issues
  • Promote accountability and continuous improvement across the project team
What They’re Looking For
  • At least 5 years of experience in bridge, highway, roadway, or heavy civil construction
  • Quality control, inspection, materials testing, or quality assurance experience, with 2+ years in a dedicated quality role preferred
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods, materials, testing procedures, and documentation requirements
  • Experience developing or implementing project-specific quality plans
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, testing requirements, and technical documents
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with field teams, project leadership, owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management or documentation systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
  • Quality-related certifications such as ISO 9001, ASQ CQE, NETTCP QAT, or similar credentials are valued
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel regionally based on project requirements

  • Competitive salary of $120,000 to $180,000
  • Comprehensive benefits and long-term professional growth
