Junior Estimator

Ready to build a career in construction estimating? J.C. Zampell Construction (JCZC) is looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team in Newburyport, MA. We're a commercial and industrial construction and facilities management company working with hospitals, schools, and municipalities across Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont — and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

• Help prepare accurate, competitive bids on construction and facilities projects
• Work alongside senior estimators on quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bids, and proposals
• Get out to job sites and pre-bid meetings to see the work firsthand
• Build relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and our internal teams

• $27–$31 per hour, commensurate with experience

• 2–4 years of experience in construction estimating, project engineering, or a related field — more experienced candidates encouraged to apply
• Comfortable reading construction drawings and specifications
• Strong with numbers and detail-oriented
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus, but not required — we value hands‑on experience just as much
• Willing to travel to job sites across MA, ME, NH, and VT
