The Process Engineer develops and documents manufacturing techniques, materials, tools and processes related to back‑end semiconductor assembly. Performs analyses and selects techniques to solve problems and enhance product yield and process flows.
Responsibilities- Establishes high yielding, cost effective processes based on product need and customer requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.
- Develops and executes Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization utilizing appropriate statistical analysis software, such as JUMP, Minitab, Excel Statistics, or equivalent.
- Establishes processes based on product specifications.
- Evaluates and validates process and design alternatives based on product manufacturability.
- Understands principles of cost of goods sold and develops process improvements to increase cost effectiveness of manufacturing.
- Understands intellectual property issues relative to processes being developed.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors and vendors.
- May serve as member on cross‑functional project teams.
- Understands work environment issues (i.e. OSHA regulations, etc.)
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
- Recent college graduates may be considered for this position, relevant technical internship/co‑op experience preferred
- Working knowledge of MIL‑PRF‑38535, MIL‑STD‑883, ISO
9001 and EIA/JEDEC and standards - Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
- Skills:
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office® software suite
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow‑up skills, as well as attention to detail.
