Location:
Newburyport, MA (On-site) Salary Range $80,000 - $125,000 annually Final compensation will be determined based on market data, geographic location, and the candidate's qualifications and experience. • Employee discounts and additional benefits Position Summary Catapult Solutions Group is seeking a Systems Administrator to support an on-site client environment in Newburyport, MA. This individual will play a key role in day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer and support desktop, server, and network hardware and software (switches, firewalls, servers, desktops, printers)
• Manage Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, One Drive, SharePoint, Teams)
• Provide technical support to end users via helpdesk and phone
• Install, configure, and maintain software for users and business systems
• Monitor backups, network availability, and overall system health
• Assist with hardware and software evaluation and purchasing recommendations
• Provide backup support for disaster recovery procedures
• Assist with ERP system administration as needed
• Create and maintain system and network documentation
• Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Required
• Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3-5 years of systems administration experience, or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs)
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365 administration
• Experience supporting VMware or comparable virtualization platforms
• Experience managing desktop, server, and network environments
• Experience with scripting or automation tools (Power Shell, Power Automate, Python, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Team-oriented mindset with strong internal customer service skills Preferred
• Experience with patch management, application deployment, and backup/disaster recovery solutions
• Experience with endpoint security and desktop imaging tools
• Experience administering SQL Server
• Exposure to ERP systems and supporting infrastructure
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
