Position: Teaching Assistant grade 4 and grade 7 (split role) - Hassell Community Primary School

Teaching Assistant grade 4 and grade 7 (split role)

Salary: £19,280 (5 hours HLTA and 25 hours TA). Term time only contract. Temporary for 1 year, may be extended.

Responsibilities
  • Support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception class).
  • Take responsibility for the whole class during regular PPA and management time.
  • Cover the teacher for short‑term absence.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Hold a minimum Level 6 in Childcare and Education or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in a Nursery or Reception class.
  • Flexible, able to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner, capable of supporting all children to make good progress.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed, with high expectations of attainment and behaviour.
  • Recent experience in a school or nursery setting.
  • Confidence in the new EYFS framework.
  • Understanding of how children learn, including speech and language development, early reading and writing skills, phonics, and emotional/social development.
  • Good level of English and Maths, with GCSE qualification graded A–C, or equivalent.
  • Ability to confidently follow planning and adapt to support children’s individual needs.
  • Experience delivering intervention programmes for groups and individuals.
  • Team player, committed to own professional development.
  • Working knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • Willingness to participate in the wider life of the school.
  • Be a caring professional.
