Position: Lecturer in English (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

Lecturer in English (English for Speakers of Other Languages) – Newcastle

Location:

Newcastle (will include one evening)

Hours:

0.5 fte (18.5 hours)
Salary: £32,136 - £42,848 pro rata

Lecturer in English (English for Speakers of Other Languages) – Stafford

Location:

Stafford (hourly paid)

Hours:

3 hours - Tuesday Evening
Salary: £25.38 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Teach English to speakers of other languages on adult courses, including qualification and non‑qualification courses.
  • Play an active role in marketing and community awareness of ESOL across the community, including open days, taster sessions and liaison with local employers.
  • Engage in core duties such as preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking examination papers, and developing flexible learning materials.
  • Support marketing of the College, Faculty and Department.
Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Level 5 university specialism in ESOL (or equivalent); ESOL trained (RSA or CELTA).
  • Teaching qualification at Level 5 (DTLLS or equivalent); PGCE or DTTLS or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to teach Academic English.
  • Well organised and able to manage a varied workload.
