English Lecturer

  • Location: London South East
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: £26.01 - £30 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Interview Date: Thursday 9th July, between 2 - 5 pm
  • Start Date: Wednesday 19th August (flexibility in start will be considered)

Join our dedicated team at London South East College as an English Lecturer. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to teach students of varying abilities, from Entry to GCSE English. This role is integral to the expansion and development of the English department, aiming to deliver the highest quality education to every student.

Day-to-day of the role
  • Teach English to students from Entry Level to GCSE.
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Manager to develop and expand the English department.
  • Inspire students using your industry experience and academic knowledge.
  • Participate in marketing events and promote the English curriculum area.
  • Maintain accurate student records and perform administrative duties to support effective teaching.
Required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Right to Work in the UK without restrictions on hours.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of two years post-qualification teaching experience in UK secondary, further education, sixth form, academy, or alternative provision settings.
  • Proven ability to teach GCSE English;
    Functional Skills experience at Entry Level 3 is desirable.
  • Relevant subject-specific qualification in English.
  • Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Efficient administration skills for maintaining student records.
