Keele University is undertaking a major strategic expansion of its engineering capability and invites applications for a Lecturer in Engineering. This appointment offers an exciting opportunity for academics and industry professionals to help establish a new portfolio of high-quality engineering programmes at a university recognised for excellence in sustainability and interdisciplinary research.

Building on research strengths where 96% of Engineering research was rated world-leading or internationally excellent (REF
2021), Keele will launch new BEng/MEng programmes in Chemical, Civil, Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics and General Engineering in 2026.

As a Lecturer, you will contribute to curriculum development, deliver high-quality teaching, support student success, and help create an inclusive academic community. You will also have opportunities to develop research within a thriving interdisciplinary environment supported by Keele's unique campus-scale facilities, including the Smart Energy Network Demonstrator, Low Carbon Energy Park, and hydrogen research initiatives.

Based in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, you will join a research-intensive school with internationally recognised expertise across engineering, materials, renewable energy, chemistry and physics. You will also help shape Keele's innovative Professional Engineering curriculum, working closely with regional, national and international industry partners.

About You Lecturer in Engineering

We are seeking enthusiastic and collaborative individuals with potential to contribute to the development of Keele's new engineering programmes.

You will have:

  • A PhD in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent professional experience in engineering R&D.
  • A developing track record in research, scholarship, or industrial practice.
  • Commitment to inclusive, high-quality teaching and student support
  • Engagement with a relevant Professional Engineering Institute (PEI) or commitment to progress toward professional registration/Chartership.

You will be committed to fostering an inclusive and collegiate academic community, supporting the growth of Keele's engineering provision, and contributing to applied and industry-engaged learning.
