The NSCG Group has recently been extended with the opening of the Stoke and Staffordshire Institute of Technology, the establishment of an NSCG campus in Leek and most recently the opening of a town centre Adult Education Hub in Stafford. In 2026/27 we shall be working to develop an Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence Centre and a Technical and Vocational Excellence Hub.
Following the appointment of Shelley Brown as Principal from January 2027, and given the significant growth which the College has experienced in recent years, we now wish to appoint two Vice Principals to take on responsibility for the development and quality of the curriculum for our 7,700 full-time students across all of the NSCG campuses.
It is intended that one post will focus upon academic and vocational provision whilst the second will have responsibility for the technical and skills curriculum. In addition the two postholders will need to work very closely together on areas of shared responsibility and as part of the wider Senior Management Team with responsibility for all of the College's £70m+ budget.
Working with an outstanding and forward thinking senior management team, and reporting to the Principal, these are opportunities for ambitious and dynamic managers with a flexible and ?hands on' approach with broad experience and excellent problem solving skills.
Post 1:
Academic & Vocational Provision:  You will lead three Faculties (Academic, Vocational & Professional Studies), line-managing their respective Directors of Curriculum. Your portfolio will cover A, T, and V Level provision, and you will serve as the College lead for higher education progression and university partnerships.

Post 2:
Technical & Skills Provision:  You will lead three Faculties (Skills & Technology, Creative & Service Industries, and the Leek Campus), line-managing their respective Directors of Curriculum. Your portfolio will focus on T Level and skills-based provision, and you will serve as the College lead for skills development and employer partnerships.

Shared Responsibilities:  Both postholders will jointly line-manage the Curriculum Director for English, Maths, and Foundation Learning, and collaborate closely to establish the Technical & Vocational Excellence (TVE) Hub.
Specific

Duties and Responsibilities:

To promote the College's vision and strategic objectives and to promote the values and behaviours which underpin them.
To promote NSCG as the first-choice destination for the brightest young people from Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent through an active programme of liaison with schools, parents and other relevant partners.
To advise the Senior Management Team, the Corporation and its Committees on matters relating to aspects of the College curriculum, its management and development.
To take the lead in reporting to the Education & Standards Committee of the Corporation.
To work with the Chief Finance Officer to ensure that the College's curriculum is delivered in the most cost-effective manner.
To provide leadership to the Curriculum Directors and Managers in ensuring that their leadership skills and capacity are fully developed.
