Due to increasing demand for our Autism Service we are now looking for a committed and passionate Senior Assistant Psychologist to join our experienced Multi-Disciplinary team. You will work clinically along with Psychologists, Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and teams of assistant practitioners and charity volunteers. This is a permanent post working as part of an MDT to deliver effective clinical input through assessment, formulation, recommendations and guidance to children and families.

- Carry out assessment, interventions, training and play sessions.
- Undertake projects and research relating to service development and psychological evidenced based interventions.
- Support the team with the production of resources and materials.
- Assist with the holistic assessment of children and families using a knowledge of psychological theory.
- Attend and contribute to meetings and forums.
- Decide on appropriate activities to meet the aims of individual or group interventions.
- Implement individual and group interventions within the program
- Develop skills in motivating children and families and/or carers to engage in processes.
- Demonstrate and apply an understanding of child development.
- Develop the ability to manage children with challenging behaviour.
- Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks.
- Prepare rooms in readiness for sessional work.
- Undertake data collection and analysis.
- Support the Assistant Psychologist team with managing workloads and allocations of administrative tasks.
- Liaise with line managers, supervisors and Qualified Psychologists to support the Assistant Psychologist team as needed.
