CNC Programmer

Proactive Personnel are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our client team in the Newcastle-Under-Lyme Area. The ideal candidate will have a proven experience within CNC programming and CNC Setting/Operating. The role will involved working as part of a dedicated engineering team, machining precision components. Working on batch/bulk work and also bespoke products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise CNC programmes for milling machines.
• Utilise CAD models to set up CNC machines correctly and accurately.
• Set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring proper tooling and materials handling.
• Conduct regular maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to ensure that all components meet specifications.
• Use hand tools and other equipment to assembler precision components accurately.
• Maintain accurate records of production data, including programme changes and machine settings.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer on Milling or Lathes is a must.
• Preferably Hurco WINMAX experience is beneficial.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency in using logic controllers and understanding their applications in CNC machinery.
• Familiarity with materials handling processes and techniques.
• Basic maths skills for precise measurements and calculations.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
• A keen attention to detail, ensuring high-quality workmanship at all times.
