CCU is a 13 bedded acute cardiac unit, emergency portal, tertiary centre for PPCI, nursing level 2 patient with acute cardiac needs such as life threatening arrythmias, heart failure and other acute complex cardiac conditions.

• Registered Nurse on NMC register
• Diploma in Nursing
• Evidence of degree level study in health/nursing related studies
• Evidence of ongoing professional education in a specialist area
• Mentorship qualification or equivalent
• Formal teaching to groups of staff

• Assess needs, develop programmes of care, implement and evaluate them for patients and their relatives.
• Provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the department.
• Manage a group of patients.
• Take charge of the unit when rostered and assessed as competent to take on the roles and responsibilities of leadership and supervision.
• Act as a role model to students and Nursing Assistants, Assistant Practitioners/trainees, and Nursing Associates/trainees.
• Present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team.
