Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
At Clive Owen, we believe starting your career in audit and accounts should be exciting, challenging and rewarding. You’ll work with some of the most innovative businesses across the North-East and Yorkshire, gaining first‑hand experience in both statutory audit and accounts preparation.
We combine cutting edge technology with hands on training, so you’ll build the technical skills and confidence you need to progress quickly.
What you’ll be doing- Prepare accounts using modern systems like IRIS, Sage, Xero and Quick Books
- Support onsite audits as part of the audit team, learning from experienced colleagues
- Draft corporation tax computations and assist with client queries
- Review and action points raised by managers and tax colleagues
- Act as a point of contact for clients on ad hoc matters
- Visit clients across the region and build strong professional relationships
We value enthusiasm and potential – not just experience
- AAT Level 3/4, or a degree, or 3 A Levels at A*-C (or equivalent)
- Willingness to learn and ambition to build a career in accountancy
- Strong communication skills – confident with clients face to face, on the phone and by email
- Good IT (Excel is your friend)
- Eye for detail and ability to check work thoroughly
- Proactive problem solver with good organisational skills
- Flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel to client sites
- Relevant accounts or audit experience
- Familiarity with accountancy software (Xero, Quick Books, Sage, Iris)
