Accountant/Client Manager

KP Simpson is an established accountancy practice looking to expand our team. We work with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries and pride ourselves on high standards, modern systems and practical, commercially focused advice.

We are looking for an Accountant who can take ownership of client work and contribute effectively in a fast-paced practice environment. The role provides broad exposure and requires someone comfortable reviewing financial information, identifying issues and communicating clearly with clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
• Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including cross-border VAT matters
• Preparing and reviewing management accounts
• Reviewing balance sheet accounts, reconciliations and year-end adjustments
• Investigating unusual balances and significant year-on-year movements
• Reviewing debtors, creditors, fixed assets, loans and other supporting records
• Identifying accounting, tax and cash-flow issues and discussing them with clients
• Managing client queries and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting the development of efficient digital accounting processes

You will have relevant accounting experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, and be confident managing work to a high standard. You should have strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to challenge figures where appropriate rather than simply process information. Good client communication and organisational skills are essential.
