Audit & Accounts Senior

This established 4 Director Firm based in Basildon supports a broad and vibrant portfolio of SME clients, growing businesses, corporate groups, academies, and charities across Essex and the South East. Renowned for its consultative approach and people-first working atmosphere, the practice offers dynamic practice professionals direct client ownership, exposure to specialized audit sectors, and clear direct pathway progression into senior leadership.

As an Accounts & Audit Senior you will:

• Manage a varied client portfolio, leading on statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and statutory audit assignments.

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of accounts and taxation assignments (approx. 70%), preparing year-end accounts and CT600 tax returns for a diverse SME client base.

• Lead FRS 102 statutory audit fieldwork (approx. 30%), including specialist academy and charity audits, from planning through to completion.

• Act as the main point of contact for client queries, developing strong, trusted relationships and delivering practical commercial advice.

• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback to support their technical development.

• Utilize leading accounting and audit software systems including Caseware, BTC, Xero, Quick Books, and Sage to streamline delivery.

• Competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience.
