Senior Accountant

Salary: £47,665 – £50,908

NRG is partnering with the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority to recruit a Senior Accountant to join its Finance & Investment Directorate.

Reporting to the Lead Accountant, this role will provide important financial accounting and statutory reporting support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the annual accounts and year-end closedown process.

• Preparing statutory financial returns.

• Managing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving accounting issues.

• Supporting treasury management and cash flow forecasting.

• Preparing high-quality working papers and audit evidence.

• Supporting financial controls and continuous improvement across the finance function.

We are looking for a qualified or newly qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant with experience of financial accounting, statutory reporting, reconciliations, audit or closedown.

You will need strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines within a busy finance environment.
