Due to significant growth in our water sector, we are recruiting for a Document Controller to join our delivery team, working on the Northumbrian Water Framework.
Costain have won extensive work across the water sector this year to support the AMP 8 investment cycle. We have been appointed by Northumbrian Water to the Living Water Enterprise to help shape and deliver its strategic infrastructure upgrade programme with contracts valued up to c.£670m to Costain over the next 15 years.
The Document Control/Information Management Department plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management,security,andaccessibilityofdocumentsandinformationacrossallprojectsand operational levels. This department is central to the company's ability to execute projects effectively,regulatory requirements, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
This role is primarily office-based, with the potential for occasional visits to project sites.
Responsibilities- Document Processing:
Receive,catalogue,andstoredocumentsinphysicalordigitalformats ensuring they are accessible and correctly filed according to the document control procedures - Data Management:
Maintainrecordsofalldocumentsandrevisions,including drawings, reports,and project correspondence, ensuring the most current and accurate versions are available - Distribution and Control:
Facilitate the distribution of documents to project teams, clients, and stakeholders, managingtheprocessofdocumentreviewandapprovals,ensuringtimelyupdatesand distributions. - Compliance:
Ensureallprojectdocumentationcomplieswithcompanypolicies,industry standards,and regulatory requirements - Collaboration:
Workcloselywithprojectteams,including engineers,project managers,andother stakeholders, to ensure efficient document control support - Reporting:
Generatereportsondocumentstatus,compliance,andothermetricsforproject managers and senior management - Archiving:
Assistinthearchivingofprojectdocumentsandrecordsinaccordancewithlegaland company requirements, ensuring they are securely stored and retrievable
- Previousexperienceindocumentcontrol,preferablywithinanengineering,construction,or technical environment
- Familiaritywithdocumentcontrolsoftwareanddatabase systems
- Strongorganisationalandtime-management skills,withtheabilitytohandlemultipletasks simultaneously
- Attentiontodetailandcommitment to accuracy
- Proficient in MS Office applications and electronic document management systems (Project Wise & SharePoint)
- Abilitytoworkindependentlyandaspart ofateam
- Adiplomaorassociatedegreein Business Administration ,Information Management (desirable but not essential)
