OverviewNorton Rose Fulbright is a global law firm advising clients across multiple regions. The document production function supports the EMEA offices by creating, editing and reformatting all types of documents consistent with practice precedents, templates and House Style across Microsoft Office 2016. The team handles copy, audio and scanned work and assists in resolving problematic or corrupt documents.
The TeamThe EMEA Document Production Team (Doc Prod) supports our EMEA offices and is responsible for creating, editing and reformatting all types of documents.
The RoleWe are recruiting a Newcastle based Document Production Technician to work Monday‑Friday (09:30‑17:30) in our Newcastle Hub, working hybrid with 2/3 days in office and 2/3 days from home each week.
Responsibilities- Produce and amend lengthy and complex business‑critical documents with speed and accuracy, in line with house style.
- Proofread and check all work for spelling, grammar, formatting, presentation and sense.
- Proactively learn new skills and technology within the role to support business needs.
- Respond to internal and external telephone enquiries politely and professionally.
- Ensure effective and efficient handover of work between shifts.
- Show initiative when responding to queries and actively seek solutions to problem documents.
- Proactively share information on document best practice or fixes to problems, consistent with the team's aim for excellence.
- Be flexible in meeting team and business needs, e.g. occasional shift changes with reasonable notice.
- Established document production experience in a fast‑paced professional services environment using templates and house style, with exposure to lengthy and corrupt documents.
- Typing speed of at least 65 wpm and proficiency in both audio and copy typing.
- Proficient user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio 2016.
- Experience working on and problem‑solving corrupt documents.
- Experience using PDF Docs, Adobe Acrobat Pro and DocXTools.
- Experience working with scanned documents.
- MOS Word Expert qualification (additional MOS PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook beneficial).
