Administration Assistant
Part‑time (22.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday, 9am‑5pm) position in the Newcastle North‑East Community Treatment Team at Benton House, 136 Sandyford Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 1QE. This is a Band 2 contract, permanent role with a start date to be confirmed.
Job overviewWe are seeking qualified and experienced administration candidates to support the multi‑disciplinary clinical team by providing a comprehensive, high‑quality administrative service. The successful applicant will facilitate excellent customer service, interacting face‑to‑face and via telephone with service users, demonstrate adaptability, teamwork and a positive patient experience.
Main duties- Provide administrative support in a customer‑/patient‑focused environment (face‑to‑face and telephone).
- Perform general administrative duties and clerical work, including typing letters and reports.
- Demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills to manage a varied workload, changing tasks on short notice.
- Maintain confidentiality, accountability and punctuality at all times.
- Adapt to potentially distressing or emotional circumstances and complete all relevant training.
- Good general level of education to O‑Level/GCE or equivalent in English Language.
- NVQ in Business Administration (or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 2 in Customer Care (or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to input data accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Good customer‑care skills.
- Knowledge of office procedures and NHS environment.
- Good organisational and planning skills using own initiative.
- Experience in an administration role.
- Ability to uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Skill at prioritising and planning own workload.
- Experience working in an NHS/healthcare setting.
- Experience using stock and working with paper‑based and electronic filing systems.
Applicants are required to pay for their own DBS certification. The deduction will be made from the first monthly pay.
This role is supported by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and Disclosure and Barring Service checks will be conducted.
