Job Title: Clerical/Admin Officer (Government Recruitment)
Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Start Date: August 2026 |
End Date: February 2027 (with potential for extension)
Rate of Pay: £14.24 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (4 days of 7.5 hours, 1 day of 7 hours)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (60% in-office, 40% remote) | Fixed hours: 7-3, 8-4, 9-5, 10-6

What you'll be doing:
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and customers, working collaboratively to support recruitment processes.
  • Managing email and telephone enquiries efficiently, providing excellent customer service.
  • Progressing recruitment campaigns using the in-house applicant tracking system and completing pre‑employment checks.
  • Assisting with data collation to produce accurate reports and monitor KPIs.
  • Ensuring compliance with recruitment policies and advising customers accordingly.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department by suggesting and implementing best practices.
