An exciting opportunity has arisen within Urology for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and hardworking experienced Clerk/Receptionist to join our admin team.
The Urology Department at Freeman Hospital is one of the leading providers of urology services in the UK. We cater to patients in the Northeast - around Newcastle upon Tyne and extending into Cumbria and the Scottish borders.
The successful applicants should possess excellent customer care, IT, organisational and communication skills. Coupled with a confident telephone manner, a good eye for detail and the ability to use their own initiative along with previous experience of working in a fast-paced reception environment. Working well as part of a team and a positive proactive attitude is essential.
You will be expected to organise and prioritise your own workload and this will require you to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the service.

Main duties of the jobThe primary focus of the role is to provide reception services across three busy outpatient areas within the urology service. Duties include but are not limited to the timely checking in and out of patients for appointments, playing an active role in a high volume call queue and administrative preparation of clinics across the service.

- To provide an effective and efficient out-patient reception and administrative service across the organisation ensuring that a high quality of customer care is delivered.
- To continue to develop and maintain competencies in all areas of work.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- IT skills in Windows-based applications
- Ability to communicate with members of the public, all staff and health care providers
- Previous reception/clerical experience
- Previous customer care experience
- NVQ Level 2 in appropriate subject (or on pathway) or equivalent qualification / experience
