Two weekshift pattern to work longdays will also include weekends toincbank holidays

Main duties of the job

Duties include patient registration via the unit's electronic systems (Firstnet), admission of patients via hospital system scanning, photocopying, telephone enquiries, making of clinic appointments, processing of daily documentation, as well as face to face enquires from the general public, patients, visitors and staff. Training of admin staff, annual appraisals

Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and processing skills. You will be required to work within a large multi-disciplinary team and be capable of undertaking a demanding workload. You should be familiar and confident with Microsoft office packages, and experience of working within the NHS Emergency setting would be advantageous.

Job description Job responsibilities
  • Contribute to a consistently high standard of patient care as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Supervise and train ED & Minor Injuries Unit clerical staff
  • To support the provision of an efficient administration and clerical service within
  • To assist the Administrative Services Manager in the day-to-day provision and supervision of an efficient and effective clerical and reception service across Emergency Department Service
  • To provide administrative support to the Consultant team and Junior Doctors to ensure comprehensive cover for all clinical areas for Consultants and Junior Doctors
  • To ensure the smooth running, coordination, and implementation on e-Record of all Emergency Department encounters daily
  • To supervise the clerical staff on a day-to-day basis ensuring adequate training and support is always provided
  • To ensure the 24 hours clerical rota is maintained to provide a comprehensive service to the Emergency Department unit
  • Ensure self and staff remain flexible to the service needs and maintain their skill set in supporting the Emergency Department Services
