Why this role?

At Tesco Insurance and Money Services, our Claims team does more than handle claims. We support customers through some of life's most challenging moments, helping them navigate difficult situations with empathy, expertise and care.

We're recruiting Claims Business Support Assistants to join our Newcastle office, providing vital administrative support to our Home and Car Claims functions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Organising and prioritising workloads effectively, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and in line with changing business priorities.
  • Maintaining accurate claim records, documentation and data across a range of claims systems and supplier portals.
  • Following claims procedures, regulatory requirements and operational controls to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance standards are met.
  • Supporting customer claims by processing updates, instructions and payments through supplier portals and internal systems.
  • Identifying and escalating customer issues or process concerns, helping to improve customer outcomes and team effectiveness.
What we’re looking for:

(minimum criteria)
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy and deliver high-quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers and a variety of stakeholders.
  • A customer‑focused and adaptable approach, demonstrating accountability, sound judgement and the ability to navigate changing priorities and business needs.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to follow established processes, maintain compliance standards and contribute positively to team performance.
And if you have any of these, even better
  • Experience working with call centre systems or insurance claims processes.
  • Knowledge of insurance claims products and services.
  • A proactive approach to personal development and continuous learning.
  • Strong self‑awareness and the ability to reflect on and enhance performance.

We welcome applications from everyone. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.

What’s in it for you?
  • A generous pension, with up to 7.5% employer contribution, depending on what you put in.
  • Virtual GP Service for you and your family
  • Performance related annual bonus.
  • 7.2 weeks holiday, with the opportunity to buy more.
