Oliver Wyman is seeking a creative and innovative Data and Analytics Apprentice who is ambitious and hungry to learn. You will join a growing global team of risk analytics and digital professionals who are responsible for ensuring the company thrives in a digital age. Throughout your first few years, they will closely monitor your progress and offer coaching, training and support to help you achieve your long‑term career goals at Oliver Wyman.

This apprenticeship program spans across 3 years and 2 months of hands‑on delivery
, followed by 1 month of assessments
. Upon successful completion, you'll be awarded the prestigious BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions (Data Analytics) – a credential that opens doors to a myriad of opportunities in the tech and data landscape!

Data & Analytics is a specialist business unit within Oliver Wyman, set up in 2017 in Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne and has since expanded across Europe, including Milan, Berlin, Madrid and Athens. The practice is a dynamic, fast‑growing team of quantitative analytics specialists working across multiple industries such as Financial Services, Insurance, Retail and Transportation.

Clients hire us for our depth of insight and expertise; expertise that comes from specialisation. We combine analytical rigour with a relentless focus on client impact. The Newcastle team has grown to over 50 people, ranging from Analysts to Directors. We are looking for apprentices to pursue a career in quantitative analytics, offering excellent career and growth opportunities for highly motivated individuals with relevant education in a quantitative subject.

Initial

Responsibilities
  • Managing the execution of individual project work streams, including developing hypotheses, managing data collection, model creation and analyses, conducting primary and secondary research, creatively tackling information limitations, and surfacing insights.
  • Supporting our Partner group in project delivery through accurate and high‑quality execution.
  • Receiving training and guidance from a blue‑chip consulting firm while also working within an ambitious start‑up environment.
  • Being offered in‑depth training, above and beyond what is typical for an Oliver Wyman consultant.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Interest in STEM‑based subjects and learning.
  • Excitement to work in an entrepreneurial environment focused on delivering impact.
  • Strong analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Independence and ability to work under limited supervision while meeting defined timelines.
  • Innovative, practical, and flexible problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective presentation of results, potential issues, and implications.
  • Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written).
  • Capacity to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Maintaining and respecting confidentiality.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
