What is the data & analytics practice?
Data and Analytics is a specialist business unit within Oliver Wyman, established in 2017 in Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne and expanded to Milan and Berlin. We are a dynamic, fast‑growing team of quantitative analytics specialists working across a global footprint in industries including Financial Services, Insurance, Retail and Transportation. Clients hire us for analytical rigour with a relentless focus on client impact.
The Newcastle team has grown to around 30 people, with a mix of quantitative expertise from Analysts to Directors. We are looking for Entry Level Graduates pursuing a career in quantitative analytics. Specific quantitative experience is not required; candidates with a relevant quantitative education will have excellent career and growth opportunities.

Role description
This internship offers the same responsibilities as our Entry Level Analyst role and provides exposure to the type of work we do and our team culture. You will have access to training and guidance of a blue‑chip consulting firm while being part of an ambitious startup.
There will be opportunities to travel, with a mix of client site time and offsite work; individual needs will be considered when staffing decisions.
You will receive in‑depth training above and beyond typical for an Oliver Wyman consultant.
Duties include:
- Managing the execution of individual project work streams, including:
- Developing hypotheses
- Managing data collection, model creation and analyses
- Conducting primary and secondary research
- Creatively tackling information limitations
- Presenting insights
- Supporting the delivery of projects
What do you look for in applicants?
Candidates in their penultimate year of study or beyond in a quantitative discipline:
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Physics
- Computer Science
- Engineering with strong quantitative applications
Strong analysis, documentation, and communication skills
