Social Care Officer - Family Time Worker
Location:
Newcastle NE4
Hours:
37 per week, Monday-Friday
Contract:
Until March 2026 (with strong potential for extension)

Newcastle is seeking a dedicated Social Care Officer to take on the key responsibilities of a Family Time Worker, helping to create safe, positive and nurturing experiences for children and families during supervised family time.
What You’ll Be Doing- Facilitating and supervising family time sessions, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of children at all times
- Supporting families to build and strengthen relationships in line with care plans
- Maintaining accurate, high-standard records and observations
- Working closely with Social Workers, Family Support Teams and partner agencies
- Providing transport for children and young people as required
- Contributing to a warm, supportive, and person-centred service
- A compassionate, reliable and proactive individual with experience in social care or working with children and families
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational abilities and a calm, professional approach
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business use – this is essential
- Ability to work confidently and independently, as well as part of a supportive team
- A meaningful and rewarding role supporting children and families in Newcastle
- A friendly, inclusive team environment
- Monday‑Friday working pattern (no evenings or weekends)
- A contract initially running until March 2026, with genuine potential for extension
