We are seeking an experienced and proactive Highways Site Supervisor to join a busy scheme delivery framework responsible for delivering highways, bridge, and surfacing projects. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of major infrastructure works on the A66 Newcastle Scheme
.
Reporting to the Site Management team, you will be responsible for overseeing subcontractors, coordinating site activities, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will provide strong on-site leadership, maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, and support the achievement of programme deadlines and project objectives.
This position offers an immediate start and a 12-month contract within a collaborative and professional project environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily site operations across highways, bridge, and surfacing works.
Manage subcontractors and ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications and programme requirements.
Monitor productivity, quality, and progress on site, proactively resolving issues as they arise.
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
Review and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Maintain accurate site records, reports, and project documentation.
Liaise effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and stakeholders.
Support the successful delivery of works within the scheme delivery framework.
Proven experience supervising highways, bridges, and surfacing projects
.Strong subcontractor management and site coordination capabilities.
Experience working within a scheme delivery framework.
Excellent understanding of current health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS, method statements, and site documentation.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver against programme deadlines.
CSCS Gold Card (minimum requirement)
