Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre

Salter Grange is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for a major hyperscale data centre project on behalf of a leading international technical contractor.

This is a senior opportunity to take responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package on a large-scale data centre project, working closely with the Project Director, engineering teams, subcontractors and client to ensure safe, high-quality and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the delivery of the mechanical scope from construction through to commissioning and handover.

* Manage mechanical subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

* Coordinate mechanical works with CSA, electrical, commissioning and other project disciplines.

* Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

* Manage programme, progress, costs, procurement and project reporting.

* Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications and method statements.

* Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.

* Manage inspections, quality issues, RFIs and technical queries.

* Work closely with the client, design team and project leadership.

* Drive performance and ensure project milestones are achieved.

Key Requirements

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on major construction projects.

* Strong experience within data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or large-scale commercial projects.

* Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and construction delivery.

* Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.

* Strong programme, commercial and stakeholder management skills.

* Experience through installation, commissioning and handover.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

* Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, high-value project environment.
