Elvet Recruitment are supporting a main contractor delivering a Newcastle‑based education project and seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to take ownership of day‑to‑day site delivery over a 3‑month period. This role suits someone confident running sites independently, maintaining programme, safety and quality on a fast‑paced build.
The Role- Oversee daily site operations and coordinate subcontractors.
- Maintain progress against programme and manage site logistics.
- Lead site inductions, briefings, RAMS and permit control.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and company procedures.
- Manage quality checks, snagging and site documentation.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, client reps and design team.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager for a main contractor.
- SMSTS & CSCS (Manager's card preferred).
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to run a site autonomously and keep works on track.
- Available immediately or at short notice.
- Location:
Newcastle - Duration: 3 months
- Rate: £300-£350 per day (CIS)
- Start: ASAP
