The digital product team is dedicated to creating innovative and engaging digital experiences for children and educators. We are committed to enriching the lives of users through interactive and educational applications that inspire creativity, learning, and fun.

We’re looking for a skilled and proactive Animator to join our growing Animation team. You’ll be creating animations and motion graphics that engage, educate, and delight children and educators across our digital products. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of animators, asset creators, and product teams, contributing to a wide variety of projects.

• Helping plan for animations:
  Help write scripts and storyboard storylines ahead of starting animation work.
• Create high-quality 2D animations:
  Work across the entire animation pipeline on several types of animations from short narrative animations, explainer animations, or short motion stories, while also contributing to in-app animations, or visual content for marketing in alignment with Twinkl’s visual style and tone.
• Collaborate cross-functionally:
  Work closely with illustrators, audio engineers, game designers, and product managers to bring concepts to life.
• Lead complex rigging and asset preparation:
  Take ownership of advanced 2D character and asset rigging, ensuring optimal performance and flexibility for animators. Collaborate with Asset Creators on preparing artwork using tools like Moho, and proactively enforce file organisation and naming conventions.
• Manage your time effectively:
  Accurately estimate tasks, keep to deadlines, and flag blockers early to your lead or educational stakeholder.
• Contribute to continuous improvement:
  Share learnings with peers, and be open to learning new tools or techniques that improve animation workflows.

• Be a strong visual storyteller:
  You can communicate abstract or educational ideas in a clear and engaging way through motion.
• Be at ease with illustration:
  You’re capable of creating or editing assets based on existing visual guidelines and don’t shy away from doing it whenever your intervention is needed.
• Be detail-oriented:
  You pay attention to timing, spacing, and character when animating, even under tight deadlines.
• Be open to feedback:
  You’re collaborative and receptive to guidance from more senior members of the team.
• Be a good communicator:
  You can clearly explain your ideas and keep others informed about your progress.
• Be technically fluent:
  You understand the production pipeline and can work within technical constraints.

• 2–4 years of professional experience in 2D animation, motion graphics, or related fields.
• Proficiency with Moho, Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• A solid understanding of animation principles and timing.
• Experience collaborating within a creative team and following a shared style.
• A portfolio showcasing a range of animation work, ideally with some educational or child-focused content.
• Demonstrated proficiency in advanced 2D rigging, character set-up, and pipeline optimization for complex projects.
• Bonus:
  Experience with Lottie or educational content creation.
