Help shape the future of how construction professionals discover, specify and source the products that build our world.

Senior Product Designer, Design Platform About Hubexo

Hubexo provides data, insights and software that help the construction market make better decisions and work more efficiently. We support customers across the sector, including contractors, consultants, specifiers and construction product manufacturers, through solutions spanning project intelligence, specification, product information , and eTendering.

About the rol

This is a rare opportunity to help build Hubexo’s future Design Platform . As Senior Product Designer, you will play a defining role in the evolution and creation of our Design Platform, the products that will shape how design professionals specify and source construction materials for years to come. Your canvas spans global construction s pec ification and product information , where you will design innovative workflows that don't yet exist in the construction sector.

You will lead complex design work from discovery and research through to validated designs and delivery. Working alongside Product Management, Engineering, QA and our AI Platform team, you will turn customer problems and business priorities into accessible, consistent , and commercially effective product experiences.

Your impact will be visible in clearer product workflows, stronger design consistency , and experiences that help construction professionals complete important tasks more easily. You will use research, evidence , and customer feedback to guide design decisions and uncover opportunities that others haven't yet seen.

What you'll be doing
  • Lead the design of complex, often novel workflows across s pec ification and product information , taking ideas from early concept through to shipped, validated features
  • Get close to users through research, usability testing and stakeholder conversations, then translate what you learn into practical design decisions
  • Create and test wireframes, prototypes , and high-fidelity designs before they move into development
  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to shape features that are useful, technically viable , and commercially sound
  • Take ownership of key parts of our shared design system, building consistent experiences across products and markets as the platform grows
  • Use analytics, support tickets , and customer feedback to spot usability problems and tackle design debt
  • Communicate your thinking clearly, whether you're speaking with designers, engineers, non-design colleagues or senior leaders
  • Support other designers through mentoring, coaching , and knowledge-sharing, while helping raise the bar on the team's design craft and processe s
  • Help set design strategy, roadmap priorities , and ways of working alongside the Head of Design and Product Managers
  • Explore how product-design practices and tools, including AI-assisted tools, can push the way we work forward
Helpful experience

Experience designing global or multi-region SaaS products.

What you'll get
  • The chance to lead meaningful, high-impact design work on a platform still being defined, with ownership of features from early discovery through to delivery.
  • Real influence over our shared design system, our approach to user-centred design and our wider design strategy.
  • Deep exposure to a specialist market and strong domain knowledge that few designers get to build elsewhere.
  • A team that will back you to handle complex problems, make sound trade-offs and keep everyone focused on customer and product value.

We value the flexibility of hybrid working, and we also know there is real benefit in spending time together. This role is based at One Trinity Gardens in Newcastle, with at least three days each week in the office to collaborate, share ideas and stay connected with the team.

Our recruitment process is designed to be clear, relevant , and respectful. We will confirm the stages early, including whether the process will involve a task, presentation , or product-design discussion.
