Treatment Centre Advanced Clinical Practitioner

1. Clinical Practice + Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex, undifferentiated, and urgent presentations (adults and children). + Request and interpret investigations (e.g., imaging, pathology) to support clinical decisions. + Make autonomous diagnostic decisions and initiate treatment plans. + Prescribe medications as a non-medical independent prescriber within scope of practice. + Perform advanced clinical procedures and lead resuscitation in emergency situations.

+ Discharge patients safely and refer to other professionals as appropriate.
2. Leadership & Management + Act as a clinical leader and role model across the multidisciplinary team. + Contribute to service development, guideline creation, and quality improvement initiatives. + Support governance and risk management processes.
3. Education + Mentor and supervise trainee ACPs and other staff. + Deliver training and educational programmes for the wider team. + Promote a culture of learning and professional development.

• Deliver advanced clinical practice as part of the multidisciplinary team within the UTC and Emergency Department.
• Independently assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of primary care and urgent presentations in adults and children.
• Request and interpret investigations (e.g., imaging, pathology) to support clinical decisions.
• Prescribe and initiate treatments as a non-medical independent prescriber.
• Perform advanced clinical procedures and lead resuscitation when required.
• Discharge patients safely and refer appropriately to other health professionals.

• + Provide autonomous, evidence-based care for complex and undifferentiated cases. + Screen for early signs of disease and manage risk factors. + Carry out invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within scope of practice. + Ensure safe prescribing and medication management.

• + Act as a role model and provide clinical leadership across the UTC.
• + Contribute to service development, guideline creation, and quality improvement.
• + Support governance and risk management processes.

• + Mentor and supervise trainee ACPs and other staff.
• + Deliver training and promote a culture of learning and professional development.

• + Engage in audit and research to improve clinical practice.
• + Apply evidence-based strategies and disseminate findings.

• Completed Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (including independent prescribing and dissertation).
• Experience in primary care settings, including paediatric assessment., Paediatric assessment course or experience assessing paediatric patients.
• Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in acute or emergency care., Ability to work autonomously and be accountable for own actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills., Ability to support and motivate others and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
