1:1 Support Assistant – Secondary Schools (Newcastle)

£90 to £115 per day (PAYE)
Full-time opportunities available

Do you have a calm, caring nature and a passion for helping young people succeed?

We’re looking for dedicated individuals to provide 1:1 support for students with special educational needs in secondary schools across Newcastle. You’ll work closely with pupils who need extra help — building trust, encouraging independence, and ensuring they feel supported and understood in the classroom.

This is a rewarding opportunity for anyone with experience in education, care, or youth support — or for those looking to start a career that genuinely makes a difference.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for students with SEND
  • Help pupils engage with lessons and develop key skills
  • Support emotional wellbeing and encourage positive behaviour
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

You’ll need:

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • The ability to build strong, supportive relationships with young people
  • A flexible, professional approach
  • Experience in education, care, or SEN support is an advantage but not essential

What you’ll get:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE (£90–£110 per day)
  • Free access to online CPD and training, including SEND and behaviour management courses
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated local consultant
  • Opportunities across mainstream and specialist school settings

Every young person deserves someone who believes in them. If you’re ready to make a lasting difference, this could be the perfect role for you.
