Fluent in BSL and passionate about inclusive communication?

They’re on the lookout for a BSL-trained Teaching Assistant to provide hands‑on support to learners across the Primary and/or Secondary phases. This is a school where every pupil is respected, supported, and encouraged to thrive — where communication isn’t a barrier, it’s a bridge.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Supporting deaf and hearing‑impaired pupils using British Sign Language
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to build confidence, understanding, and engagement
  • Assisting with classroom learning, emotional regulation, and daily routines
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent, meaningful support
You’ll need:
  • BSL Level 2 or higher (Level 3+ preferred)
  • Experience supporting children with SEND and/or hearing impairments
  • A calm, friendly approach and a passion for inclusive learning
  • Confidence using visual, tactile, and signing communication strategies
With Protocol Education, you get:
  • Weekly PAYE pay (no umbrella companies or admin fees)
  • FREE CPD including Thrive, de‑escalation, and specialist SEND training
  • Local placements and a supportive consultant who gets SEND
  • The chance to make a difference where it’s most needed

Apply today and help create a learning space where every child feels seen, heard, and understood.
