- Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong vocational background in the health and social care sector, paired with a passion for developing learners’ technical and employability skills. This role will primarily focus on delivering and enhancing our Health and Social Care pathways, empowering students to succeed in this vital and rewarding field.
- Hold an honours degree (Level
6) or a recognised industry qualification in Health and/or Social Care or a closely related discipline. - Possess a post‑16 teaching qualification or a commitment to attaining one within an agreed timeframe.
- Have Level 2 qualifications in English and maths (e.g., GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification.
- Show the ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
- Demonstrate knowledge of subject‑specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
- Possess clear communication and strong organisational skills.
- Confident using digital tools to support learning.
- Commit to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.
Newcastle College is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified professional to take on the role of Lecturer – Health (0.8 FTE). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and assessing high‑quality programmes within our further education health and social care provision, all tailored to meet the needs of health and social care students. The role also includes programme administrative responsibilities to ensure effective course delivery and assessment, with a strong emphasis on learner progression and success.
