SEMH Support Staff

We're working with a specialist SEMH academy in the North East and are looking for passionate, resilient individuals to join their team on a long‑term basis. This full‑time, Monday to Friday role supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a classroom setting, providing both learning support and emotional and wellbeing support to young people who may present with challenging behaviour.

• General classroom support
• Supporting pupils' emotional regulation and wellbeing
• Building positive, trusting relationships
• Managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviours
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff

• Calm, patient and resilient
• Experience or strong interest in SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Passionate about making a difference
• Ability to commit long‑term, Monday to Friday
• Experience in education, care, youth work or similar settings is ideal, but the right attitude is key
