SEMH Support Staff
We're working with a specialist SEMH academy in the North East and are looking for passionate, resilient individuals to join their team on a long‑term basis. This full‑time, Monday to Friday role supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a classroom setting, providing both learning support and emotional and wellbeing support to young people who may present with challenging behaviour.
Responsibilities- General classroom support
- Supporting pupils' emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Building positive, trusting relationships
- Managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviours
- Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
- Calm, patient and resilient
- Experience or strong interest in SEMH or challenging behaviour
- Passionate about making a difference
- Ability to commit long‑term, Monday to Friday
- Experience in education, care, youth work or similar settings is ideal, but the right attitude is key
