We are currently seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Newcastle upon Tyne, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to pupils who require consistent, patient, and tailored support within a structured and nurturing environment.

The role:

Supporting pupils with ASC and SLD on a 1:1 and small-group basis

Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of personalised learning activities

Supporting communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation

Promoting independence, engagement, and positive behaviour

Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff

The ideal candidate:

Has experience working with SEN, ASC, and/or SLD (school or care setting desirable)

Is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs

Demonstrates a calm and consistent approach to behaviour and learning

Is a strong team player with excellent communication skills

Relevant SEN qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
