Job Title: Intervention Tutor
Location: Newcastle
Salary Range: £90 – £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Intervention Tutor to join a welcoming school in Newcastle
. Your guidance will help pupils overcome learning gaps, build confidence, and achieve meaningful progress across key curriculum areas.

Key Responsibilities of an Intervention Tutor
  • Deliver targeted academic support to pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
  • Tailor learning activities to meet pupils’ individual needs and abilities.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN staff.
  • Reinforce classroom learning and help boost pupils’ confidence and independence.
  • Support pupils in developing essential study skills, problem-solving, and perseverance.
Job Requirements for Intervention Tutor
  • Experience working with children or young people in an academic or tutoring capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of core subjects, particularly English and Maths.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to a variety of learning needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
