Newcastle City Learning – Employer Led Team – Tutor – Apprenticeships & Employer-Led Early Years Provision

Are you passionate about developing the Early Years workforce and supporting apprentices and adult learners to thrive in their careers? Newcastle City Learning’s Employer Led Team is expanding its high-quality Early Years curriculum and is seeking talented tutors to deliver Apprenticeships and employer-responsive qualifications that meet sector skills needs.

As part of our Employer Led Team, you will work directly with employers, apprentices and learners to deliver engaging and impactful teaching, learning and assessment that leads to successful outcomes across Early Years pathways.

You will play a key role in helping to grow, shape and sustain Newcastle’s Early Years workforce supporting learners to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours aligned to sector standards, Ofsted expectations and employer requirements.

What you will do
  • Deliver Early Years Apprenticeships (e.g., Early Years Practitioner, Early Years Educator) and other employer-led Early Years qualifications, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Plan and implement curriculum that develops substantial vocational skills matched to Early Years employer needs and sector best practice.
  • Produce schemes of learning, session plans, assessment materials and learning resources tailored to Early Years roles.
  • Work collaboratively with local nurseries, schools and childcare settings to ensure training aligns with workforce expectations and individual employer needs.
  • Provide high-quality coaching, support and progress reviews for apprentices, ensuring timely achievement of gateway requirements and readiness for End-Point Assessment.
  • Carry out workplace observations, professional discussions and competency assessments in Early Years settings.
  • Use formative and summative assessment strategies to track, support and challenge learners effectively.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, growth of employer relationships and promotional activity related to Early Years provision.
  • Participate in standardisation, IQA activities, team meetings and ongoing CPD.
  • Promote safeguarding, Prevent, and equality, diversity and inclusion at all times, modelling professional Early Years practice.
