A large and well-established college group in Newcastle is seeking a personable, engaging, and highly relatable Maths Lecturer to join their team on a permanent basis from January 2026.

For this role, personality comes first. The Maths can be taught — but the ability to connect, motivate, and rebuild confidence in GCSE resit learners is what truly makes the difference. Many of these students have previously struggled with the subject; they need a lecturer who can reframe their experience, make learning accessible, and create a classroom environment where they feel supported and capable.

The Role

* Deliver GCSE resit and Functional Skills Maths in an engaging, accessible way

* Build strong relationships with learners who may lack confidence

* Inspire, motivate, and re-engage students who need a fresh approach

* Support learners to achieve positive outcomes and regain belief in their ability

What We’re Really Looking For

* A naturally engaging and approachable personality

* Strong classroom presence and the ability to build rapport quickly

* Experience teaching Maths (FE experience desirable but not essential)

* A relevant degree or equivalent teaching experience
