Position: Foraging Guide / Event Assistant (Flexible, Part-Time / Freelance)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Charnwood Foraging teaches people of all ages about wild plants, trees, and fungi through engaging courses, talks, and team-building events. We believe learning about nature should be informative, inspiring, and above all — enjoyable.

The Role

We are looking to build a small team of reliable freelance guides and assistants to help deliver foraging courses, corporate team-building sessions, and public events.

This is not a full-time role
, but an opportunity to support existing work, cover occasional gaps, and potentially grow with the business over time.

Foraging Guide Responsibilities
  • Assisting or leading foraging courses and walks
  • Helping participants identify plants and fungi safely
  • Supporting course logistics and group management
  • Representing the company professionally at events
  • Delivering learning in an engaging, friendly, and fun way
Event & Activity Assistant Responsibilities (Entry Route)

For applicants not yet ready to guide, we are also interested in people who can help with:

  • Running stalls at events and festivals
  • Supporting team-building activities
  • Assisting with setup, participant interaction, and materials
  • Helping sessions run smoothly

This role can be a stepping stone toward becoming a guide.
